Adam Lambert Turned Into an Elderly Version of Himself for a Video
Adam Lambert featured a cover of Billie Eilish’s “Getting Older” track on his new album High Drama. While Lambert is now older than he was when he made his breakthrough as a contestant on American Idol, for the music video of his cover, he was thinking about how he’ll change even more in the future.
Adam Lambert Aged Himself for a Video
Recently, Adam Lambert unveiled his music video for “Getting Older,” and it features him getting completely transformed into a much elderly version of himself. The transformation was done with the help of both prosthetics and makeup and is a fitting look for the message of the song. Eilish’s “Getting Older” is about a young musician becoming disillusioned with their art after facing the opinions of deranged fans and dealing with superstar status. Lambert has a more literal take and decided to make himself older for his video.
In a recent interview, Lambert detailed his step-by-step transformation and pointed out how he had always wanted to do a complete makeup transformation. He added that although it took around four hours, the result was so lifelike he felt it was all worth it. Regarding the song’s sentiment, the singer said that no matter how old a person is, they would feel the things that the lyrics described. He also remarked that singing the song felt very confessional to him.
The Album Is Filled With Covers
“Getting Older” is featured on Adam Lambert’s new album, High Drama. It is filled with covers and drops on February 24th, 2023. High Drama marks his fifth solo album since he won second place on American Idol in 2009. Since then, he has also toured extensively with the legendary rock band Queen and took the role of a stand-in for the late singer Freddie Mercury. In 2020, Queen released a live compilation album called Live Around the World, featuring songs they played live with Adam Lambert.
