Are you fed up with the time it takes you to perform your nightly routine? If so, the following are a few products that can boost your collagen production as well as advice on when and how to use them.

Boost Your Nightly Collagen Regime

A leading dermatologist from the Oneskinmed clinic, Lida Maronas, suggested that people should alternate their skincare routine. She states that when it comes to collagen, people should try to pare down how much product they put on their skin.

Lida recommends adding a retinol serum to boost collagen production at night. This is because constant exposure to UV rays during the day can reduce cell renewal, which reduces skin elasticity. Using products that will actively boost cell renewal is vital. Plus, using a moisturizer that hydrates your skin is also recommended.

Reducing Skincare Products

Another specialist, Dr. Natalia Jimenez, is also a staunch advocate for pairing down on skincare usage. Her philosophy is that the less people use, the more likely they are to continue with the regime they choose. Using too many products each night is something that most people do not have the patience to do.

The best way to look after your skin is to clean it every morning and evening using a good cleansing lotion. In the morning, apply your moisturizing product. Make sure that it contains SPF. At night, use a different moisturizer that contains retinol. Try using the likes of CeraVe, Tatcha, EltaMD, or La Roche-Posay. All of them contain ingredients that your skin needs when it comes to collagen.

Reassess the Routine

As with most things, your skin will get used to the routine that you use, so try mixing it up every 10 to 12 weeks. This will give your skin the collagen it needs by using a different set of ingredients that it may be lacking.

Whatever regime you try, make sure to stick with it and keep it simple. With time, your skin will thank you!
